Learn about Myrniong Primary’s two 6m centre post umbrellas, offering maximum coverage with waterproof Valmex FR580 PVC in beige.
Myrniong Primary School needed to enhance their outdoor space with effective shading. Initially, the plan was to cover a specific location with a different design. However, due to the proximity of buildings and services, Shade ‘n’ Sails had to adapt and come up with an alternative solution. The project ultimately involved the installation of two 6m square centre post umbrellas, providing optimal coverage and waterproof protection.
Originally, the client wanted to cover a different area with an alternative design. However, site constraints, including the proximity of buildings and underground services, necessitated a change in both the location and design of the shade structures. The new solution involved two large centre post umbrellas, each measuring 6m by 6m. These umbrellas were ideal for providing extensive coverage with minimal posts, maintaining an open and unobstructed space.
The fabric chosen was Valmex FR580 PVC in Beige, known for its excellent waterproof properties and durability. The steelwork was hot dip galvanised and powder coated, ensuring a robust and long-lasting structure that complemented the school’s aesthetic.
The primary challenge was adapting the original plan to accommodate the site’s constraints. This involved moving the location of the structures and changing the design to centre post umbrellas. The new design provided the necessary coverage while avoiding interference with nearby buildings and underground services.
The careful planning and strategic placement of the umbrellas ensured that they did not compromise the surrounding infrastructure. The installation process was executed with precision, ensuring that the new structures integrated seamlessly into the existing environment.
The Valmex FR580 PVC fabric in Beige was selected for its superior waterproofing and UV protection, making it suitable for the school environment where reliable shelter is essential. The hot dip galvanised and powder coated steelwork added durability and visual appeal to the umbrellas.
The project was completed in December 2023, meeting the client’s requirements and expectations. The successful completion of the project highlights the team’s ability to adapt to changing conditions and deliver high-quality shading solutions.
Myrniong Primary School expressed great satisfaction with the installed umbrellas. The new structures provide significant shade and weather protection, greatly enhancing the usability of the outdoor area. The minimal post design maintains an open and flexible space, perfect for various school activities.
The positive feedback from the school underscores the effectiveness of the umbrellas in meeting their functional and aesthetic needs. The project has transformed the outdoor area into a more comfortable and inviting space for students and staff, promoting outdoor learning and recreation.
The installation of centre post umbrellas at Myrniong Primary School demonstrates Shade ‘n’ Sails’ capability to adapt to site-specific challenges and deliver customised shading solutions. By relocating the structures and changing the design, the team provided a functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space. This project exemplifies the importance of flexibility and innovative thinking in creating effective solutions that enhance educational environments.
