When Delacombe Primary School needed a reliable all-weather solution for an outdoor area, Shade ‘n’ Sails delivered with a custom Triax structure. Designed to provide comprehensive protection in all weather conditions, this project exemplifies quality craftsmanship and durable design.

Design and Specifications

The waterproof Triax structure spans an area of approximately 18m x 6m. It connects to the existing building along one side, providing a seamless integration, while the other side is supported by freestanding posts. This design ensures stability and optimal coverage, making the outdoor area usable throughout the year.

The fabric selected for this project was Valmex FR580 in the colour ‘Vanilla’. Known for its durability and weather-resistant properties, this fabric offers excellent protection from the elements. The supporting steelwork was hot dip galvanised and powder coated, ensuring long-lasting performance and an appealing finish.

Engineering Challenges and Solutions

One of the key challenges was to address the client’s previous experience with a similar product from another company that had failed due to poor quality. This underscored the importance of delivering a robust and high-quality structure that would stand the test of time.

Shade ‘n’ Sails approached this project with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that the design and materials chosen were of the highest standard. The integration of the structure with the existing building required precise engineering to ensure a seamless connection and robust support.

Materials and Completion

The Valmex FR580 fabric was chosen for its superior performance in waterproofing and UV protection. Its ‘Vanilla’ colour adds a clean, bright aesthetic to the school’s outdoor space. The steelwork, being hot dip galvanised and powder coated, provides both strength and resistance to corrosion, ensuring the structure’s longevity.

The project was completed in March 2024. The successful completion reflects the team’s expertise and dedication to delivering a product that not only meets but exceeds client expectations.

Client Satisfaction and Impact

Delacombe Primary School expressed significant satisfaction with the new Triax structure. The durable, all-weather design has transformed the outdoor area into a functional space that can be used year-round, regardless of the weather. The positive feedback from the school underscores the importance of quality and reliability in shade solutions.

The successful implementation of this project also highlights Shade ‘n’ Sails’ ability to rectify past issues and provide superior solutions. The robust design and high-quality materials used ensure that the structure will serve the school community well into the future.

Conclusion

The Triax structure at Delacombe Primary School is a testament to Shade ‘n’ Sails’ commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
